Only 10 km from Lucca, these hills appear to be blended with different shades of silver, due to the olive trees which rise amongst them and form an amphitheatre which protects the vineyards. This earth is fed by the sun, by sea breezes and mountain air. A wonderful climate which for centuries has made the earth fertile, this producing excellent oil and wine.

The owners of this enchanting Borgo are Piero and Francesca, and they devotedly follow the family tradition of agriculture. They can offer you the chance to get to know this land and it's nature.

The villa is a typical 18th century farmhouse which has been restored and refurnished in harmony with it's original style, and with modern touches which make it welcoming and comfortable.
It is enriched by the flora around it: fig trees, thick rosemary and laurel hedges and pomegranate trees and fiorenti ficus with abundant fruit, all of which provides a colourful environment.

On the farm

here are cookery classes for a minimum of eight people which consists of 5-6 hours of lesson. They are organised by the house cook who will teach you how to use aromatic herbs, how to prepare pasta and bread in the traditional Tuscan way and also the preparation of meat and seasonal vegetables.
The farm produce can be tasted and this includes red and white wine, Vino santo, Grappa and extra virgin olive oil. All the farm's products may be purchased in the Cantina which is open from 9 am - 6 pm daily.

Hiking
The 25-hectare estate include vineyards and olive tree groves as well as uncultivated areas that are open for you to explore during your stay. Upon arrival you will be provided with a detailed map displaying the various footpaths in the surrounding are.

Lucca itself, with it's Roman, Etruscan and medieval origins, which was in parts renovated during the Principality of Elisa Baciocchi Buonaparte.

Torre del Lago Puccini where in summer is on the Opera Puccini by the lake.
The long Versilia coastline is protected by hills and offers some very interesting towns, such as Pietrasanta a centre for sculpture and marble works and its Museum dei Bozzetti

Don't miss a visit to Garfagnana
At Bagni di Lucca you can visit the ancient spa, or spend the day trekking with a guide at the Orrido di Botri reserve an calcarean gorge by deep steps walls high 200mt.. At Barga by celtic origin, visit the VI century castle, the XI and XVI century Cathedral with wonderful painting and sculptures. Not far from Barga the famous caves Grotta del Vento where one can admire the underground world with stalactites, stalagmites and alabster draperies.

We also suggest a day to the Cinque Terre in Liguria, 100km away.
