Maremma offers you various opportunities. If you
like fishing, you can fish in the Ortobello lagoon every
Friday and Saturday morning from April until October. At Porto Santo
Stefano you can hire boats for daily excursions and catch
the ferry which in a few minutes will take you to the beautiful
Island of Giglio which is part of a National Park.
Don't forget the famous Parco dell'Uccellina, 98000 hectares,
100 sq. m. and 20 km of coast.
In this wonderful reserve there are various types of fauna and flora.
You can see goats, deer, wild boars and many birds. The cattle
from Maremma are famous as are the cowboys who look after
them called "Butteri" who ride horses, typical of this
area.

There
is also a cultural aspect to this area, Tarquinia, the most
important Etruscan city, with a site of 750 hectares including
40 tombs to visit with frescos from 7th century BC. There is also
the archeological site at Roselle, 5 km from Grosseto, and
why not make a quick visit to Rome, only 150 km away. "Dulcis
in fundo" a day dedicated to health and beauty at the Spa
of Saturnia, where you can bathe in hot water in natural baths
in the open.
