There are many beautiful churches, of which the
Duomo is a classic example of Renaissance ecclesiastical architecture,
a small modern art gallery that shows mainly local artists, and for
the children there is are the substantial zoological gardens that
make for a great day with the animals.

The Pistoia Mountains form the foothills of Apennine
Mountains that are the barrier between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna.
Visit Cutigliano and stop at the restaurant Il Fagiolino ("the
little bean") or taste wine in the Il Fagiolino wine cellar.
Or go to Il Cochino restaurant in Montale for a
truly genuine Tuscan meal.
Take a walk in the mountain along the Iron
Road where ironsmiths once plied their trade. A second walk along
the ancient Strada del Ghiaccio, or road of ice leads you
along the old route where ice men extracted ice for supply to nearby
cities. In Popiglio there is a picturesque suspension bridge "Il
Ponte Sospeso" over a narrow gorge.
