Being near to Vinci you will undoubtedly
want to visit the Renaissance village, where the great Leonardo
was born, and visit the Museo Leonardiano in the 11th-12th century
Castello Guidi.
The museum has one of the largest collections of original models of
Leonardo's work. This was achieved by the contribution of IBM Italiana
and the Cassa di risparmio di San Miniato.
You shouldn't miss the chance to visit Montelupo Fiorentino
with its ceramic shops, or the Museo della Ceramica with 15 rooms
and 300 exhibits which document the industry from medieval times,
Renaissance till modern day.
Also at Montelupo, in the 14th century Frescobaldi tower is the Glass
museum. The village of the tower is traditionally tied to the
art of glassmaking, flasks and the ancient art of chair mending.
We would also like to remind you about the ceramic studio Fratelli
Taccini at Sovigliana di Vinci, where, for generations the Taccini
family has handed down secrets of this ancient art.
At Vinci you can admire il Cristo Croce Fisso which was made of clay
and wrought iron in 1995 by Taccini.
