Castle
near Lucca Tuscany
The Castle is a pretty
village house built of mellow stone and set in the tiny hilltop
village between Lucca and Pistoia (600 meters above sea level) part
of a huge stone building dating back to the 1200's - and which was
a Ghibelline castle.

The Ghibellines who sided with the holy roman Emperor fought against the Guelphs who supported the Pope over the right to rule the northern part of Italy. In the Castle there are two apartments the Fairy and the Elf. Its name derived from the utensils that the inhabitants produced "lances". |

The Castle villa is the only property in the village having a lovely terraced grassy garden and some trees. In the garden you can find the swimming pool [7.5 x 4 metres], a barbeque a gazebo garden furniture. The Castle sits at the edge of the little
village, and is surrounded by miles of woodland where you can enjoy
long walks and the whole area is a patchwork of medieval hilltop
villages that are all worth a visit. The Village, though tiny, has
a bar/pizzeria, which also sells a few basic foodstuffs. The area
makes a good base for touring being with easy driving distance of
