The surrounding area of Lucca Tuscany
The XVI and VXII century villas of Lucca with
beautiful gardens and amazing examples of ancient plants.
Lucca itself, with it's Roman Etruscan and medieval origins,
which was in parts renovated during the Principality of Elisa Baciocchi
Buonaparte.
The long Versilia coastline is protected by hills and offers some
very interesting towns, such as Pietrasanta a centre for sculpture
and marble works.
Don't miss a visit to Garfagnana
At Bagni di Lucca you can visit the ancient spa, or spend the day
trekking with a guide at the Orrido di Botri reserve. At Barga visit
the VI century castle, the XI and XVI century Cathedral with wonderful
painting and sculptures.
We also suggest a day to the Cinque Terre in Liguria,
100km away.
